Thursday COVID-19 Report – Six new deaths, 337 new cases

PIERRE, S.D. – After a couple of days with no deaths, health officials reported 6 new COVID-19 related deaths in their Thursday report.

Two of the new deaths were reported in Pennington and one of them was out of Meade County. The new deaths raise the state’s total to 1,673.

New cases today totaled 337 with 85 of them considered probabale.

Active cases were down 14 to 4,089. The number of people hospitalized decreased by 10 today to 185.

Around the Black Hills area, Pennington County added 24 new cases Thursday, with the county’s total rising to 12,139. Active cases in Pennington were down to 476.

Meade County added 12 new cases, 4 of which were probable, and Lawrence County had 4 new cases, 2 of which, were probable.

Other new cases across the Black Hills included 5 in Oglala Lakota, 3 each in Butte and Custer and 2 in Fall River.
