RAPID CITY, S.D. – At 6:44 a.m. on Thursday, the Rapid Valley Volunteer Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire in the 8000 block of Cobblestone Ct in Rapid Valley.
Upon arrival, first responding firefighters encountered smoke coming from the home, with the fire extending to adjacent residential structures and detached garages.
Firefighters, dealt with freezing temperatures and narrow, winding, snow, and ice-packed gravel roads. They were able to effectively contain the fire to the initial structure. The fire was prevented from spreading to nearby residences.
There were no injuries reported during this incident.
