PIERRE, S.D. – The Thursday COVID-19 update from the state Department of Health showed 417 new cases with 127 of those listed under the probable category.
Nine new deaths were reported today, sending the state’s death toll since the pandemic began to 2,214.
Active cases were down a bit to 5,696 and the number of people hospitalized was up slightly to 202.
Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 81 new cases with 18 of those listed as probable.
Meade County added 10 confirmed cases and one probable case. Lawrence County had 3 new cases and Butte County added 7.
Elsewhere, Fall River County totaled 8 new cases, there were 5 new cases in Custer County and Oglala Lakota County reported 4 new cases.
