Thursday’s COVID-19 report – 384 new cases; eight new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials reported 384 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday with 66 of those listed as probable.

Active cases decreased by 64 to 7,688. The number of people hospitalized increased by 3 to 270.

Eight new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,392. Of the eight new deaths, one was out of Pennington County and another was in Lawrence County.

Pennington County reported 48 new cases today, with 11 of those considered as probable.

Lawrence County reported 10 new cases and Meade County added 9.

Elsewhere, Fall River County had 7 new cases, Butte County reported 3 and Oglala Lakota and Harding County each had one new case.
