Thursday’s COVID-19 Report – Six new deaths; 89 new cases

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 89 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday.

Active cases have dropped to 3,940 and the number of people hospitalized fell by six today to 142.

Another six new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,820. One of the new deaths was out of Pennington County, where the death toll rises to 332.

Across the Black Hills area, there were 36 new cases. Pennington County had the most with 17, followed by Meade County with 8, five in Oglala Lakota County, four in Butte County and two out of Custer County.
