Timothy Lyle Hagemann was born October 19th, 1950 in Ashton MN, to Leo and Lucille (Hawes) Hagemann. He was the 4th of eight children. His family moved to Nemo SD when he was a growing child. He attended the Nemo Grade School and Deadwood High School. In elementary school, he met Lorraine Quenzer. After many years of tormenting and teasing her, she finally agreed to become his girlfriend, and on May 29th, 1970, she became his wife and love of his life. To this union, they had 2 daughters, Cheryl and Katina. Through good times and bad, sickness and health, Tim was a testament to his wedding vows and love for Lorraine. They have been married for 53 years and spent many of those years camping and traveling, and enjoying each other and their family.
Tim spent some time working road construction and traveling with his young family until they finally settled in Sturgis SD. Tim, Lorraine, and the girls lived in Sturgis for some 20 years while Tim worked for Hills Material first on the paving crew and later becoming mechanic foreman. He also worked as a drug and alcohol counselor, for Wharf Resources, and Fischer Sand and Gravel, later retiring early due to a work-related injury. At the time of his passing, he was a driver for Prairie Hills Transit, probably his most rewarding job. He also was a board member for New Dawn in Vale for many years.
With the birth of their first grandson in 1996, Tim and Lorraine moved to Belle Fourche SD. It was there that Tim’s love for fishing blossomed and he could be found many days fishing and camping at Orman Dam. Tim also made many lifelong friends while living in Belle Fourche and became the neighborhood “go to” guy for everything from fixing lawn mowers and cars, to plowing the entire street with his little yellow tractor, and was a listening ear for those who needed a friend.
Tim was an amazing man with very quick wit, great insight, and wisdom; a jokester at heart. He loved his family more than anything and they knew it. There was nothing that Papa couldn’t fix or wouldn’t do for them. He was their rock, mentor, hero and go to for everything. He will be deeply missed.
Tim was a man of God with deep faith and trust in the Lord. His family takes comfort in knowing he is with him now.
Tim is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Lorraine. His daughters Cheryl (Larry) Rohlf of Belle Fourche and Katina Hagemann Horst of Belle Fourche.
