Track and Field season opens with West River Preview

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The area Track and Field season opened Thursday with the annual West River AA Preview at Rapid City.

In running events on the boys side, Aiden Hedderman of Sturgis opened the season with a win in the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 14.89.

Scooper Quinn Bruch scored a win in the boys 1,600 meters and the 800 meters while his teammate Kale Fenner won the 3,200 meters.

Cale Meisman of Rapid City Stevens was a double winner as he captured the 100 and 200 meters.

On the girls side, Paige Willnerd of Sturgis won the 800 meters in a time of 2:30.58 and Anna Hoffman of Spearfish was a triple event winner, capturing the 100 and 200 meters and the 300 meter hurdles.

In field events, Avery Marler of Sturgis captured the girls long jump and Aiden Hedderman won the boys pole vault. Scooper Ireland Nacey also brought home first place in the girls triple jump.
