Truck driver injured after crash near Custer

CUSTER, S.D.  – The highway patrol says a man was hurt following a log truck accident near Custer.

The accident happened around 7:20 yesterday morning near Six Mile road and Long Draw Road.

The 32-year-old driver was transporting a fully loaded logging truck when he attempted to negotiate a left-hand corner on a snow covered trail.

The truck went off the roadway where it rolled onto its passenger side and the tractor portion of the truck struck a tree.

The driver was airlifted to Rapid City Regional Hospital with serious, but non life-threatening injuries.
