PIERRE, S.D. – The State Department of Health reported 27 new COVID-19 cases Tuesday and two new deaths in their daily report.
The two deaths were reported in Pennington and Minnehaha Counties.
Pennington County reported 4 new cases, raising their cumulative total to 466 with 142 active cases. That is down 6 from yesterday. The latest death in Pennington County raised their death count to 12.
Other new cases reported today include three in Oglala Lakota County, who now has a cumulative total of 59 with 22 active cases.
Meade, Lawrence, Custer and Fall River had no new cases to report today. Meade County’s active caseload is 9, Lawrence County has 5, Custer County has six and Fall River has 3.
The number of active cases statewide has fallen 35 to 773 from Monday’s 808.
The number of people hospitalized also dropped 3 to 85.
The statewide death toll is now 83 with the two new deaths reported today.
