Tuesday, January 26 COVID-19 Update – no new deaths, 202 new cases

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota’s COVID-19 count Tuesday indicated 202 total new cases with 47 of them listed as probable.

For a second day in a row, no new deaths were reported.

Active cases continued their decline – down another 250 Tuesday to 3,428. The number of people hospitalized dropped by 9 to 152.

Across West River counties, there were 45 confirmed new cases and 9 probable cases.

Pennington County had the most West River, with 16 confirmed cases and 5 probable for a total of 21.

Meade County had 10, confirmed new cases and Lawrence County added 6 new, confirmed cases.

Elsewhere across the Black Hills area, Oglala Lakota reported 6 new cases, Butte and Custer each added 2 and one new case was confirmed in Fall River.
