Tuesday’s COVID-19 Report – 175 new cases; three new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – In their Tuesday report, the South Dakota Department of Health reported 175 new cases of COVID-19. Today’s report includes numbers from the weekend.

Active cases have dropped below five-thousand to 4,419. The number of people hospitalized dropped by 24 to 147.

Three new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,808. Of the new deaths, two were out of Pennington County.

There were 50 new cases scattered across the Black Hills area. Pennington County had 33, Meade County accounted for 6, Lawrence County totaled 4, Oglala Lakota County reported 5 and there was one each out of Butte and Custer counties.
