Tuesday’s COVID-19 Report covers new cases from Friday

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials on Tuesday reported 453 new cases of COVID-19. Of those 453, 104 were considered as probable.

Today’s totals are for Friday only. Health officials say tomorrow’s update will include numbers from Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Active cases are at 6,182 today and there are 213 people hospitalized.

Two new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,074.

Friday’s numbers across the Black Hills totaled 217 with 47 of those listed as probable.

Pennington County had 92 confirmed cases with 29 probable for a total of 121.

Meade County reported 31 confirmed cases and one probable and Lawrence County had 18 confirmed with 4 probable.

Butte County also had 18 confirmed and 4 probable.

Custer County had 6 confirmed with 3 probable and Fall River County added 5 confirmed cases and 6 probable.
