Tuesday’s COVID-19 report includes four days of numbers

PIERRE, S.D. – The COVID-19 report Tuesday includes four days of test results as 1,265 new cases were reported. Included in that number are 215 listed as probable.

Today’s update covers numbers from late Thursday of last week up to 1:00 p.m. Monday.

Health officials revised the state’s death toll from 2,469 to 2,468 Tuesday. The department reported no new deaths over the holiday weekend.

Active numbers statewide are at 7,271 and the number of people hospitalized is down from Monday to 228.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County recorded 163 total new cases with 14 of those listed under the probable category.

Meade County added 24 total new cases with 3 of those probable and Lawrence County reported 16 new cases.

Elsewhere, Fall River County showed 13 new cases, Oglala Lakota County had 5, Custer County listed 3 and there were 2 new cases out of Butte County.
