Two arrested on drug charges, outstanding warrants

RAPID CITY SD – A high speed chase near Rapid Valley on Sunday afternoon ended with the arrest of two people.

Police were responding to a report of drug activity at the Fresh Start on East Highway 44. Upon arrival, a hypodermic syringe was found on the ground where a car had been parked. The officer saw the car a short distance away and pursued the vehicle. It was stopped past the 161st Avenue corner.

Both people in the car were arrested.  Wendy Johnson, 23, and 34-year-old Evan Brownbull both of Rapid City, had outstanding warrants.

There were a number of drug-related items recovered in addition to a handgun and ammunition.
