Two long-time employees leaving the City of Sturgis

STURGIS, S.D. – Sturgis is losing two key city employees.

Lisa Katzenstein, the city’s Director of Administrative Services, and Adam Hosch, Finance Officer, have tendered their resignations.

Katzenstein has worked for the city for nearly 16 years. She joined the city as the human resources director in 2008. She served on the transition team after the departure of City Manager Daniel Ainslie in April of 2023 and most recently has served on Mayor Angela Wilkerson’s administrative team.

Katzenstein has taken a job with Black Hills Energy. Her last day will be Sept. 6.

Hosch was appointed in 2024 after long-time Sturgis Finance Officer Faye Bueno retired in February.

He has worked for the city for 18 years. He has served as Deputy Finance Officer and payroll and human resources specialist. He also worked for several years at the Sturgis Community Center.

His last day is Aug. 26.
