RAPID CITY, S.D. – Two men arrested this past week for firing gunshots off of Skyline Drive have made their initial court appearance.
On Thursday, 23-year-old David Venegas and 18-year-old Roman Venegas made their first appearance in county court for allegedly assaulting two people and shooting at a vehicle last week.
According to court documents, the two allegedly assaulted two people with a firearm on December 27th. The defendants are also accused of firing 20 rounds at a motor vehicle.
Both are charged with four counts of aggravated assault and one count of discharging a firearm at a motor vehicle. The charges stem from reports of gunfire that originated on Skyline Drive toward Kelly’s Sports Lounge on Jackson Boulevard last week.
The charges the men face are class three felonies and both men face up to 15 years in state prison if they’re convicted.
The two men were given no-contact orders with both of their bonds set at $250,000.
