Two vehicle crash in Faulk County results in fatality

HOVEN, S.D. – One person died Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash that occurred east of Hoven.

Names of the two people involved are not being released pending notification of family members.

Preliminary crash information indicates that both vehicles were eastbound on South Dakota Highway 20. A 2020 Ford Explorer struck the rear of a 2017 Honda Pioneer ATV. The ATV went into the south ditch and rolled over.

The 62-year-old male driver of the ATV was thrown from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The 26-year-old female driver of the Ford was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.

South Dakota’s Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
