DEADWOOD, S.D. – Deadwood Police are investigating the death of a man who was found in Whitewood Creek early this morning.
At approximately 7:11 a.m., Wed., January 15, 2024, the Deadwood Police Department was dispatched to the area of the Mickelson Trail at 66 Cliff Street following a report of an individual seen in the creek.
Upon arrival, it was discovered that the individual, a male in his 20’s ,was deceased.
Preliminary investigations are in progress to determine if foul play was involved.
The identity of the individual is not being disclosed at this time as efforts are being made to notify next to kin.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
