Uridiales, VanDeest win Spearfish Cross Country meet

SPEARFISH, S.D. – Spearfish captured both the boys and girls first place finishes at their home Cross Country Meet Friday.

Keenan Uridiales won the boys race in a time of 15:41:09.

Peyton VanDeest won the girls race in a time of 18:27:99.

Finishing second in the boys race was Austin Akers of Sheridan. Two of his teammates, Robby Miller and Reese Charest, finished in third and fourth place.

Top placing Scooper was Deron Graf in 10th.

Placing second in the girls race was Abby Newton of Sheridan and Kira Ubence of Douglas placed third.

Top placing Scooper was Lucy Hamer in 7th.

Winning the boys team title was Sheridan with Sturgis placing second. Thunder Basin was third.

Winning the girls team title was Sheridan with Spearfish placing second. Thunder Basin placed third.

In other Cross Country action Friday:

Newell’s Garret Winkler won the boys race in the Marlene Gustafson/Ryan Day Memorial Meet.

Wakley Burns of Philip was second and Jayden Taken Alive of McLaughlin was third.

Winning the girls race was Predley Terkildsen of Philip and Taylee Dartt of Wall placed second.

Claire Verhulst of Harding County was third.
