SPEARFISH, SD – While the restrooms at the parks within the City of Spearfish generally close in the autumn, they are closing early, effective immediately, due to recent vandalism making it impossible for repairs to occur before the regularly-scheduled seasonal closure of the restrooms.
“Anyone with information related to the recent vandalism of park restrooms, which took place over the weekend of September 25 and 26, is encouraged to contact Spearfish Public Safety Dispatch at 642-1300,” Spearfish Police Chief Curt Jacobs said. “It’s unfortunate that someone’s actions have impacted everyone else enjoying our parks system.”
Certain parks will have portable toilets available to the public to use through October.
Park restrooms typically re-open in the spring.
