Virginia Marie (Farnsworth) Crowser was born at home in Dowling, SD, on December 11, 1922, to Ray and Margaret (Ramey) Farnsworth. She was the 3rd of 7 children. She would have to walk 3 miles to attend a one room country school. She married Lee Crowser September 13th 1938. They ranched in the Dowling and Ash Creek areas and later Howes. They moved to the Union Center area of June 1, 1950. She loved animals. She had numerous cats, dogs, rabbits, bum calves, and others pets go through her house. She was very active in ranching and her husband’s rodeo stock contracting business. She also loved gardening and was very skilled at embordering. She accepted the Lord early in her life and was baptized at the Christian Life Center in Belle Fourche in 1993. She later moved to Mud Butte, SD, with her daughter, Jennie in 2018, so that Jennie could take special care of her until her passing at Monument Health in Sturgis, SD, on Saturday, October 28, 2023, just 45 days before her 101st birthday.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lela (Tom) Bowen of Newell, SD, Jennie Crowser of Mud Butte, SD; granddaughter, Linda (Morten) Busklain of Eden Prairie, MN; grandson, Max (Pam) Bowen of Union Center, SD; great-granddaughters, Camilla Busklain, and Silje Busklain; special friend, Brenda Bowen of Severance, CO; and several nieces, and nephews, and cousins.
