Virgle Miner Obituary

Virgle Peter Miner

Virgle Peter Miner, 86, went home on February 27, 2024 peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Virgle was born December 26, 1937 to Vernie and Bess (Duba) Miner in Hill City, South Dakota. He lived his adventurous childhood in Piedmont, SD, until joining the navy with his twin brother, Vernie. In April 1962 he married Kathleen Michele Peak and they had two daughters, Heidi and Dawn.

In 1972 he took his family to Las Vegas where he started his HVAC education and thrived in his career in the hotel industry as an engineer. He also owned and operated his own HVAC company. He was the hardest working man we’ve ever known. Yet he knew the perfect balance between work and fun. He retired from with the union and moved back to South Dakota, his favorite place to be, and close to his family.

Virgle is survived by his twin brother, Vernie (Sharon) Miner, and sister, Lawanda. He also leaves a beautiful legacy in his children, Heidi, Dawn. Chad, and Jason; grandchildren, Savannah, Michael, Jacob, Tyler, Shelby, Caitlyn, Dylan, Emma, Nicholas, Isabella and Conner; and great grandchildren, Arizona, Lydia, Brookelynn, Zhane, Vayda, Eliza, Beckett, Owen, Hunter, Zander and Braxton.

He was our Rock and Super Hero!

Memorial services will be Saturday, March 2, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Kinkade Funeral Chapel, Sturgis, SD, with visitation one hour prior. Inurnment will follow at Piedmont Cemetery, Piedmont, SD.
