STURGIS, S.D. – With races in three of four city wards and two petitions on the ballot, voter turnout for the Sturgis Municipal Election reached just under 30-percent.
The City of Sturgis reported as of Tuesday, there were 5,222 registered voters in Sturgis.
The total vote count in Tuesday’s 2024 Sturgis Municipal Election was 1,480 – or 28%.
In 2022, the city of Sturgis had 4,991 registered voters.
City officials say there were 1,487 who cast a ballot in that year’s election – a 30% turnout.
