HURON, S.D. – The Wall Eagles were victorious in their opening game at the Girls Class B State Tournament in Huron.
The Eagles defeated Sully Buttes 58-50.
Wall was led by Paige Kjerstad’s 25 points, 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
The Eagles finished 20-53 from the floor, or 38-percent. Nora Dinger chipped in 15 points for Wall.
Wall shot 77-percent from the free throw line, compared to Sully Buttes’ 58-percent.
Up next for the Eagles is Wolsey-Wessington, who defeated Jones County 53-42 in the first game of the day.
At the State A Girls Tournament, top seeded Hamlin rolled to a 42-32 win over Flandreau in the first game up. In the second game of the day, rivals Red Cloud and Lakota Tech battled, with the Lady Crusaders coming out on top, 76-55.
And, at the State AA Girls Tournament, number one seed Sioux Falls Washington defeated Watertown 48-24 and Sioux Falls Jefferson downed Mitchell 50-34.
