Wednesday COVID-19 report – Active cases decline for third time this week

PIERRE, S.D. – In Wednesday’s COVID-19 report from the Department of Health, 552 new cases were reported with 100 of those listed under the probable category.

Active cases have declined by 139 to 7,461, but the number of hospitalizations was up a bit over Tuesday to 205.

For the first time since Sepember 1st, no new deaths were reported today. For the month of September, there have been 58 COVID-19 related deaths.

Across the Black Hills region, Pennington County reported 103 total new cases with 23 of those listed as probable.

Meade County added 23 new cases and Lawrence County reported 38.

Butte County listed 10 confirmed cases and 2 probable.

Elsewhere, Custer County had 8 new cases, Fall River County listed 6 and Oglala Lakota County tallied 30 new cases today.
