Wednesday’s COVID-19 Report shows five new deaths in Minnehaha County

PIERRE, S.D. – Minnehaha County recorded another five deaths according to today’s COVID-19 report from the State Department of Health.

Minnehaha County has now recorded a total of 24 deaths. The statewide total is now 29.

There were 58 new cases of COVID-19 in the state including one case in Oglala Lakota County – which is now their second cumulative case. Other cases included 36 in Minnehaha, 6 in Lincoln, 5 in Brown, 2 in Grant and one each in Brookings, Moody, Roberts, Todd, Turner and Yankton.

Active cases of COVID-19 in South Dakota stand at 773, a decrease of 29 from Tuesday.

Current hospitalizations are at 72, down three from Tuesday’s 75.

Negative tests are now at 16,637, up 336 from Tuesday (16,301). There were 394 tests reported on Wednesday. Pennington County now has a total of 910 negative tests, Meade County has 302, Lawrence County has 198 and Butte County has 69.
