Wednesday’s COVID-19 update – 329 new cases, no new deaths

STURGIS, S.D. – South Dakota’s Department of Health reported 392 new cases of COVID-19 Wednesday, but no new deaths.

The state’s active caseload dropped 26 today when coupled with new recoveries to 3,658. Total hospitalizations were up one today to 212.

The Black Hills region recorded 75 new cases with Pennington County having the most with 40. Pennington’s total reached 2,405 and 414 remain active.

Meade County had 12 new cases, sending the total to 560 with 103 remaining active.

Lawrence County added 10 new COVID-19 cases, giving the county a cumulative total of 428 with 100 active cases.

Other new cases today include 5 in Oglala Lakota, 4 in Butte, 3 in Custer and one in Fall River counties.

Across all of West River South Dakota there were 97 cases, including 6 in Gregory, 5 in Dewey and 4 in Todd.

With no new deaths, the state’s death toll remained at 223.

There were 1,623 new persons tested reported on Wednesday.
