Wednesday’s COVID-19 Update – 72 new cases; one new death

PIERRE, S.D. – State health officials reported 72 new cases of COVID-19 in their Wednesday report.

Active cases total 3,238 and the number of people hospitalized totaled 112.

One new death was reported, sending the state’s death toll to 2,844.

There were 21 new cases reported around the Black Hills area. Pennington County accounted for 8 new cases and both Meade and Lawrence County each added 4.

Oglala Lakota County also reported four new cases and Fall River County added one.
