PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials listed 36 new cases of COVID-19 in their Wednesday report.
Active cases are down to 2,679 and the number of people hospitalized was down eight to 69.
Nine new deaths among cases were reported, sending the state’s death toll since the pandemic began to 2,870. Of the new deaths, two were reported out of the Black Hills area with one out of Pennington and one out of Custer County.
New cases across the Black Hills area totaled 13. Pennington County had 10 of the new cases with one each out of Custer, Fall River and Oglala Lakota Counties.
