WHITEWOOD — A Sunday afternoon fire destroyed a residential shop near Whitewood.
Whitewood firefighters responded to a report of a fire at approximately 4:20 p.m. at the shop on Weyrich Lane, about a mile north of Whitewood.
Whitewood Fire Chief D.J. Werlinger says upon their arrival, the shop was fully engulfed in flames.
The lack of water at the site hampered their efforts and had to be shuttled to the fire from in town.
Fire crews from Whitewood, Sturgis and Spearfish all responded to the blaze.
Cause of the fire was under investigation.
