PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 1,292 new cases of COVID-19 in their weekly report.
Active cases continue to drop; totaling 717 this week.
The number of people hospitalized due to the virus remained at 105.
Nine new deaths were reported over the past week, sending the state’s death toll to 2,993.
Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 218 new cases with active cases down to 126.
Meade County listed 59 new cases this past week and Lawrence County added 29.
Elsewhere across the Black Hills area, Oglala Lakota County had 55 new cases reported, Butte County listed 15, Custer totaled 16 new cases and there were 20 reported out of Fall River County.
