Weekly COVID-19 Report – 423 new cases, two new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported 423 new COVID-19 cases in their weekly update.

There were 24 new hospitalizations and a total of 62 people hospitalized this week.

Active cases statewide totaled 259 and two new deaths among cases were reported. The statewide death toll reaches 3,118.

New cases across the Black Hills area included 48 in Pennington County, 3 in Meade County and just one new cases was reported out of Lawrence County.

Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County had 11 new cases, Butte County reported 4, Fall River County listed 2 and there was one new case in Custer County.
