PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials reported 643 new cases of COVID-19 over the past week.
In their weekly report issued Wednesday, the health department says hospitalizations remained stable at 44 with 31 new hospitalizations reported.
Active cases in the state totaled 418 this week.
There were 4 new deaths among cases, sending the state’s death toll to 3,204.
New cases around the Black Hills area included 77 in Pennington County and six each in Butte, Lawrence and Meade counties.
Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County showed 21 new cases, Fall River County added 7 and there 3 reported out of Custer County.
