Weekly COVID-19 Report – 832 new cases, six new deaths

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 832 new cases of COVID-19 in their weekly report issued Wednesday.

Active cases rose to 603 statewide as 35 new hospitalizations were reported. There are 81 people total hospitalized this week – up from last week’s reported 56.

Six new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll to 3,065. There were no new deaths reported across the Black Hills area.

Pennington County saw 83 new cases reported over the past week. Lawrence County added 19 and Meade County had 14.

Elsewhere, Fall River County showed 34 new cases, Butte County totaled 8, Custer County had 7, Oglala Lakota County added 14 and Harding County reported two new cases.
