PIERRE, S.D. – The weekly COVID-19 report issued by the South Dakota Department of Health showed 963 new cases across the state this week.
Active cases have dropped to 644 and the number of people hospitalized decreased to 99 from 105 last week.
Nine new deaths were reported, sending the state’s death toll above three-thousand to 3,002. Of the new deaths, two were out of Meade County, two were out of Lawrence County and one was out of Pennington County.
New cases across the Black Hills area included 156 in Pennington County, 29 in Meade County and 17 out of Lawrence County.
Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County reported 46, Fall River County added 14, Butte County listed 12 and Custer County had 8 new cases.
