PIERRE, S.D. – The weekly COVID-19 update for South Dakota is out today, and health officials reported 154 new cases. That is up from 111 listed in last week’s report.
Active cases, however, saw a significant drop over the week from 2,426 last week to just 537 this week.
Three new deaths among cases was reported, raising the state’s death toll to 2,883.
Across the Black Hills area, there were 47 new cases reported. Pennington County recorded the most with 25.
Meade and Lawrence County each reported 5 new cases. Butte County added 4, Oglala Lakota recorded 5, Fall River County tallied two new cases and there was one new case out of Custer County.
