Weekly COVID-19 report – ten new deaths; hospitalizations down

PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Department of Health reported 752 new COVID-19 cases over the past week in their weekly report dropped today.

Active cases statewide rose to 564 this week; up from 473 the previous week.

Hospitalizations have dropped to 44 total with 37 new hospitalizations realized.

Ten new deaths among cases were reported this week – one more than last week. The state’s death toll hit 3,200 with the new reported deaths.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County showed 117 new cases, Meade County reported 11 and Lawrence County had 9 new cases this week.

Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County listed 40 new cases, Fall River County had 9, Custer County reported 7 and Butte County had 5.
