Weekly COVID-19 Report – two new deaths; 475 new cases

PIERRE, S.D. – The weekly COVID-19 report showed 475 new cases with active cases increasing by 192 to 1,246.

The health department reported hospitalizations remaining the same at 33, but two new deaths were reported. One of the new deaths was out of Pennington County, where there have been 344 since the pandemic began. The total number of deaths rose to 2,919.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 76 new cases, Meade County added 14 new cases and Lawrence County tallied 12.

Elsewhere, Oglala Lakota County had 7 new cases, Fall River County reported 5 and there were six new cases each in Butte and Custer counties.
