PIERRE, S.D. – South Dakota health officials released the weekly COVID-19 report today, and new cases over the past week totaled 1,089. That is down a bit from last week’s new case report.
Hospitalizations totaled 62 this week – down from last week’s 74. However, the state reported 51 new hospitalizations this week.
The state’s death toll surpassed 31-hundred as seven new deaths among cases were reported sending the total since the pandemic began to 3,106.
New cases this past week across the Black Hills area included 94 in Pennington County, 23 in Meade County and 13 in Lawrence County.
Elsewhere, both Fall River and Butte County reported 7 new cases and Custer County listed 6.
