West River area reports 112 new COVID-19 cases

PIERRE, S.D. – There were 452 new cases of COVID-19 reported Wednesday, of which, 148 were considered probable.

After two days of having no deaths, the state reported 19 today, raising the state’s total since the pandemic began to 1,604.

The number of people hospitalized rose by 13 to 253 and active cases totaled 4,762.

Across the Black Hills area, Pennington County reported 43 new cases with 3 of them listed as probable. Meade County had 13 new cases and Lawrence County added 15.

Butte County added 3, Fall River added 4 and Custer had one new case.

Across all of West River, there were 112 new cases with 22 listed as probable.
