RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office says a woman is dead and a man is in critical condition following a homicide in Rapid Valley.
Deputies responded to the 4000 block of Gypsey Lane in Rapid Valley around 11:30 p.m. on November 13 after receiving reports of gunshots in the area.
Law enforcement officers found an adult male and an adult female in the yard of a residence, both with apparent gunshot wounds. They were both transported to the hospital, and the female later died. Officials say that the male remains in critical condition.
In a release, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office says that “the parties involved have been identified and there is no danger to the public.”
The names of those involved are being withheld pending next of kin notification and the ongoing investigation.
