Woman killed in UTV crash identified

PIEDMONT, S.D. – Authorities have identified a passenger in a UTV that suffered fatal injuries Monday in a single-vehicle crash near Piedmont, SD.

Preliminary crash information indicates a UTV driven by 37-year-old Jamie N. Fletcher of Rapid City had left the roadway and struck a tree. A female passenger in the UTV, 30-year-old Alicia S. Murray of Chocta, Oklahoma, was found deceased when emergency personnel arrived. Fletcher was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of her injuries.

The highway patrol says both women were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash but not helmets.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
