RAPID CITY, S.D. – Rapid City police say a woman was shot and killed near the intersection of E. North St. and Pine Street Wednesday night.
Rapid City Police Captain Christian Sigal says around 6:45 they responded to the incident.
“Around 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday night Rapid city Police Department received a report of gunshots fired near the intersection of E. North St. and Pine St. When they arrived, they found a woman who had been shot and was in critical condition.”
Sigal says the woman was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of her family.
Sigal says an investigation is underway.
He says anonymous tips may also be submitted by texting the letters ‘RCPD’ and the information to 847411.
It is the second homicide involving a female victim in as many days.
