PIERRE, S.D. – The South Dakota Beef Industry Council is excited to announce Chef Rika Yukimasa’s visit to the United States for the American Beef Journey from July 23 to 27, 2023. Yukimasa, known for her NHK TV cooking show “Dining with the Chef,” will tour South Dakota beef farms, ranches, and key sectors, promoting beef as a leading economic driver in the state.
Chef Yukimasa is renowned for her culinary expertise and bestselling cookbooks, with her television show airing in 150 countries, including the US. With a background in U.C. Berkeley and California, she has a deep understanding of the American palate.
The South Dakota Beef Industry Council is hosting a Japanese Cuisine Meet and Greet event at Sturgis Brewing Company on July 25, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. MT. Chef Yukimasa and Food Network Celebrity Justin Warner will showcase various preparation techniques and serving options for various value cuts of beef in Japan. Attendees can participate in a beef and beer pairing experience and participate in an open question and answer session.
The South Dakota Beef Industry Council is excited to showcase the state’s beef industry to Chef Yukimasa and provide her with firsthand knowledge of the commitment and care that goes into raising high-quality beef products. This collaboration aims to not only promote South Dakota’s beef, but also to instill confidence in consumers when making purchasing decisions.
In addition to the South Dakota Beef Industry Council, Beef Logic Inc. and the United States Meat Export Federation (USMEF), contractors to the Beef Checkoff program, will be present at the event. They will work alongside the SDBIC to introduce Chef Yukimasa to South Dakota beef farmers and ranchers who play a vital role in providing high-quality beef to consumers worldwide.
