DEADWOOD, S.D. – The Lead-Deadwood wrestling team won the tiebreaker of a 36-36 dual with Spearfish on Thursday night.
The Golddiggers’ Miles Renner pinned Jacob Ellingson one minute and 11 seconds into the first period to even the team score at 36-36 and clinch Lead-Deadwood victory on criteria.
It wasn’t the only dual victory for Lead-Deadwood – they also picked up a 48-24 win over Hot Springs.
The third dual at the Lead Triangular was Spearfish cruising to a 59-18 win over Hot Springs.
In girls competition, Spearfish defeated Hot Springs 16-6 and Lead-Deadwood 24-15 to claim the top spot.
In other wrestling action, Douglas/RC Christian/New Underwood picked up a pair of dual wins Thursday night with a 66 to 0 win over Hill City and a 49-18 over St Thomas More.
