Wrestling Wrapup – Spearfish wins Black Hills Classic

SPEARFISH, S.D. – Spearfish claimed the team title of the Black Hills Classic Wrestling tournament Saturday with a 186 points.

Rapid City Central came in second with 166.5 and Philip came in third with 152.5.

The Spartans crowned three individual champions — Oakley Blakeman at 132, Max Sailor at 138 and Evan Hehr at 220.

Philip crowned two champions; Kipp Cordes at 106 and Jadyn Coller at 126.

Custer and Hot Springs also had a pair of champions. For Custer, Irail Griffin won at 152 and Micaiah Grace at 170. For Hot Springs, Keaton Bissonnette won at 160 and Teejay Atwood at 195.

Maverick Simons of the Sturgis J.V. squad won at 113 pounds.

In other wrestling action, Rapid City Stevens brought home a second place finish at the Yankton Invite.

Yankton won the team title with 224 oints. Stevens finished with 182.5 and Pierre was third with a 154.5.

Stevens had three individual champions with Darien Malone at 126, Declan Malone at 138 and Cooper Voorhees at 160.
