GILLETTE, Wyo. – Fire crews in Campbell County, Wyoming say they have the Dry Fork Fire 90-percent contained.
The fire started Monday northeast of Gillette.
It has burned 3,197 acres of grass and timber. That is number has not changed over the past 24 hours.
The Campbell County Fire Department says the incident will begin downsizing, but crews will remain on scene through the week.
Meanwhile, in South Dakota, Great Plains Fire Dispatch reported a couple of new fire starts over the past 24 hours.
The Deep Creek Fire burned 955 acres near Hayes in Haakon County. The fire is now controlled and was human caused.
The Brehm Fire, also contained, was reported 8 miles northwest of New Underwood in Meade County. The fire burned approximately 30 acres. Fire crews say it was sparked by lightning.
And, the Weld Fire north of Scenic burned approximately 100 acres before it was contained on Monday.
