DENVER, Colo. – Black Hills State men’s basketball downed Regis, 94-82 Saturday night behind a 61.1 percent shooting performance from the field.
The Yellow Jackets (22-1, 16-1 RMAC) led for all but 28 seconds of Saturday’s contest, while extending the team’s winning streak to nine games.
Joel Scott led all scorers with 28 points, going 11-of-12 from the field while putting up five rebounds, a steal and an assist.
PJ Hayes led the team with 11 rebounds to go with his 14 points for his first career double-double.
Meanwhile, Black Hills State University women’s basketball tipped off against Regis on Saturday afternoon from Denver, Colorado, falling to the Rangers 67-53 despite a fast start in the first quarter.
The Yellow Jackets (17-6, 12-5 RMAC) were 23-of-62 from the field, 4-of-20 from beyond the arc, and 3-10 from the charity stripe. Despite the loss, the BHSU defense played tough as they out-stole the Rangers 10-4 and out-blocked them 3-2.
