Alan J. Williams, 81 of Spearfish passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Ft. Meade VA Medical Center.
Alan James Williams was born on September 16, 1942, to Phillip and Irene Williams in Winner, South Dakota and passed away on January 24, 2024, in Spearfish, South Dakota. Alan’s father passed away in 1949. His mother, Irene, later married Rudy Cerv.
In June of 1960, Alan joined the United States Navy and ended his military career with 22 years of service to his country.
Alan was married in 1979 to Lydia Lopez in Las Vegas, Nevada. Lydia passed away on September 10, 2005. Alan moved from California to Spearfish, SD where he resided until his death on January 24, 2024.
Survivors include four brothers and four sisters, Phillip Williams Jr, of San Diego, CA, John Cerv, Winner, SD, Robert Cerv, Springview, NE, Calvin Cerv, Spearfish, SD, JoAnn (Williams) Ice, Spearfish, SD, Peg (Cerv) Focken, Long Pine, NE, Kaye (Cerv) Thiede, Springview, NE, Karen (Cerv) Luther, Bassett, NE and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Resurrection will be at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, Spearfish, SD at 10:00 on February 5, 2024. A luncheon will be served after the Mass. Burial will be at Black Hills National Cemetery.
