SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The American Legion regional baseball tournament opened Friday with eight games across the state.
Sturgis opened the tournament with a tough 10-0 loss to Sioux Falls West.
West did most of their damage in the 3rd and 4th innings where they scored 4 and 3 runs respectively.
In other games, Rapid City Post 320 lost to Watertown by the score of 4-2.
And Post 22 won their opening game against Renner Post 307.
The game was tied at 2 in the bottom of the seventh when the Hardhats drove the winning run over the plate for a 3-2 win.
Wyatt Anderson had 3 hits and an R.B.I. to help lead Post 22.
All three teams play their second game in the best of three series Saturday.
